During my childhood, life was not always easy, and I faced many setbacks over the years that I will never forget. At one of the darkest moments in life, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency was there for my family and me when I needed help the most. The people of the UNRWA made sure we had enough food and clean water so that we could survive, but they even made sure I got an education.
The UNRWA also stood by my dad?s side and helped him get a job, allowing him to provide for us. I don?t know where I would be without them. I have come a long way since the days I spent in the refugee camp, but I will never forget the people who gave me a second chance. If the UNRWA had not been by my side during those difficult times, I would not be the person I am today.
Although the UNRWA is committed to making the world a better place for us all, their resources are limited. They now face more problems and struggle to save all of the refugees who depend on them for support and guidance. To make matters even worse, the Trump administration has cut UNRWA funding by $300 million, making it next to impossible for them to fulfill their mission. Many refugees who are in the situation I once faced have little hope of getting a fair shot at life, and I can?t just watch while they suffer.
I have given as much as I could because I want to repay and empower the UNRWA to help others. Since I can only do so much on my own, I need your help.
