Cocktails & Couture BASIL SODA Launch
The recent event was a bigger success than we had hoped, and it was a pleasure to launch BASIL SODA to the Australian market with my partner and good friend, Linda Elcham from Sydney Stylists. We had a full house of people wanting to see the new designs for themselves. Several celebrities and the industry?s finest people came to be a part of the red carpet event, and I felt honoured to have a chance to see and commemorate Basil Soda?s last collection in front of an eager audience. His contributions have impacted and positively influenced the fashion world in many ways, and his work will likely live on for years to come.
Credited as one of Lebanon?s best-known international designers, he will always be remembered for his skill and vision, but it?s about much more than that. Although he was a great designer, he also had a beautiful soul that touched the lives of many people. His inspiration came from architecture and his desire to display the contrasting themes of strength and fragility, highlighting the dichotomy of women. The designs of this brilliant man have made their way around the world and have impacted the way we view fashion and elegance.
Famous personalities are among those who proudly wear his designs and showcase his work. What makes his collection noteworthy is that his designs are appealing and that they tell a story in powerful and subtle ways that are hard to replicate. People who leave behind such a legacy are rare gems that the world will forever cherish, and many aspiring designers use his creations as inspiration. In addition to Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad, Basil Soda is one of a handful of Lebanese designers who have earned international acclaim for creating breath-taking designs, and the Australian market can now enjoy the best of his work.
